The Oak Creek Brass Consort came to life in 1994 when tubist Bert Harclerode and his first tuba teacher NAU Professor of Trombone James 'Bud' Gould first performed as a quintet at Red Rock Crossing. From fanfares to Broadway, the Oak Creek Brass Consort's repertoire is familiar and family oriented.

Today the ensemble includes trumpeters Dean Garner and NAU Trumpet Professort Dr. Stephen Dunn, hornist Colin Speirs, NAU Faculty trombonist David Vining and tubist Bert Harclerode who is also Chamber Music Sedona executive director. Each artist is a member of the Flagstaff Symphony. The cumulative performance experience represents more than 150 years of music making including the Chestnut Brass and Disneyland's first professional tuba quartet.
