Sedona, AZ - (July 17, 2009) - Crews are examining how to remove an underground section of the old bridge abutment near Tlaquepaque in the most cost effective and environmentally sensitive way. There will be no visible work on the new bridge above ground while this work is being done. The bridge is still on schedule to be completed by the end of 2009 or early 2010.
Traffic Shift between Bowstring Drive and Morgan Road
Traffic will be shifted to the east between Bowstring Drive and Morgan Road on SR 179. Please drive carefully and follow all traffic control devices. Bowstring Drive is now open.
Pedestrian Bridge Open at Oak Creek
The pedestrian bridge is complete. A temporary access to the pedestrian bridge remains open to the public. Please note that this access may be restricted due to final sidewalk, wall and roadway bridge construction at various times through the remainder of the year.
Landscaping Activities Through Business District
The landscape contractor, Recon, has begun landscape activities from the Y intersection to south of Ranger Road and near the Inn at Oak Creek to Canyon Drive. Please note the first work will involve placement of the irrigation system and removal of weeds. Actual plant and rock mulch placement will occur in a few months.
