Please recycle at Tlaquepaque

Tlaquepaque has been recycling cardboard, paper, glass, plastic and cans for more than a year. Why is that we are still seeing cardboard and magazines in our dumpsters? Come on - let's all join together and make Tlaquepaque a Green Center. Pleae do not place cardboard or magazines and paper in the dumpsters. If you do, these items will sit in a landfill for 100 years or more! Do the right thing and place these items in the recycling bins located creekside behind El Rincon.
If we all do our share, we will help improve our earth and our green footprint. There is no reason that these items cannot be reused for other products. Thank you.

Tlaquepaque Employee Permits

We have noticed recently that vehicles owned by Tlaquepaque Employees and Owners have not been displaying the Tlaquepaque Parking Permit on their rear view mirror. This system helps us identify vehicles parked in the Tlaquepaque lots.

Last week there was a large event at Los Abrigados Resort and many of their employees were parking in our parking lots. We were unable to identify vehicles that were owned by Tlaquepaque employees so many of the cars were stickered. It is for the good of the center that ALL vehicles owned by Tlaquepaque Owners and Employees have the Tlaquepaque Parking Permit on display. This is a mandatory program and we need your help in enforcing it.

If you do not have a parking pass, please stop by the office and ask for a permit application. Your vehicle information will then be placed in our data base so we will know that the vehicle is parked in the correct location. If you do not have a parking pass on display, you will receive a sticker.

Yesterday we walked through the employee parking lot and more than half of the cars did not have a parking pass on display. Please cooperate with this progam and help us keep the parking spaces for our employees. Now that Spring Break is here, it is very important that everyone park in the employee parking lot so we will have space for our shoppers.

Thank you for your assistance.

Jane Zane Ad Agency

New advertising guru lands in Sedona after 30 years - for "red dirt" prices!

Jane Zane - Ad Agency: "for businesses who want to thrive."

You might think that starting an ad agency in Sedona is bad timing right now. In fact, that's exactly the reason Jane Zane is setting up shop here - to help businesses THRIVE in a very difficult time. Because THAT is what she is great at. Communication to customers is critical in slim times. A business must utilize every penny they spend on advertising. And if the ad is not well-thought out, the ad money goes right out the window.

Jane grew up in Las Vegas, NV, and lived in Phoenix and Prescott. Now, she has been living in Sedona for over 2 years now, working a "day job" while freelancing ad work in the evenings and weekends. She has settled in, learning the demographics and dynamics of this amazing area. Finally, she is comfortable in offering experienced guidance, in what works for this area and Northern Arizona.

"Sedona has been on my radar since I was 18 years old, when my mom took "us kids" on a trip through here. I love the history of this area, and especially of Tlaquepaque and how it was built. Any promotions or advertising for this beautiful shopping center, would bring out the "love" that came from Abe's efforts."

Julie Willliams promoted to Director of Mountain Trails Gallery

Julie Williams has been promoted to Director of Mountain Trails Gallery. Julie is a seventeen year resident of Sedona and has worked at Mountain Trails Gallery since 1992 with the exception of a six year hiatus when she welcomed my two daughters into the world.
Before coming to Sedona, Julie worked in hotel management at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in New York City where she met her husband.

While on their honeymoon they visited Sedona and like so many before and after them, decided to make Sedona their home. Julie has had the privilege of being a part of the vibrant art community in Sedona under the guidance of both Ken Payne, founder of Mountain Trails Galleries and her dear friend, Vonne Battistini. She is looking forward to continuing to promote the fine artists at Mountain Trails Gallery, beautiful Tlaquepaque, and Sedona as an art destination.

Spring Break at Tlaquepaque

Tlaquepaque welcomes our Spring Break visitors. March is here and so are out out of town guests. Walk walking through the Portal Lane parking lot yesterday, we witnessed 40 out of state plates including 4 Canadian license plates. In addition to these vehicles, there were 30 rental cars parked in the Tlaquepaque parking lot. This is exciting news for all of the tenants and employees at Tlaquepaque. We are so happy to see tourists and visitors shopping and dining here in larger numbers. It is great seeing our village coming alive once again.

New Excitement in C Building

Great News! We are going to have a new shop upstairs in the C Building. Wild West Wine Company will be opening soon. Sisters Adrienne Harris (Cucina Sedona and Verdigris Loft) and Leslie Harris (Diva Sedona) will open an exciting new wine shop. In addition to a long list of local wines, they are planning to offer wine tasting and colorful decor to add a twist to the unique shops at Tlaquepaque. We can't wait to see how the store is coming along.

La Sala de los Milagros Banquet Room at Tlaquepaque

Tlaquepaque Arts and Crafts Village is well known as a fabulous shopping destination. It’s also an ideal venue for popular cultural festivals, art galas, intimate weddings and private parties under the stars.

Expanding on Tlaquepaque’s abundant choices for the perfectly tailored event is the 1500 square foot ballroom, La Sala de los Milagros. Beautifully situated on the Tlaquepaque’s upper level with twin balconies overlooking the cobblestoned Patio del Norte and its mosaic floral fountain, the English translation means “Room of Miracles”.

The multi-functional ballroom has hosted evening receptions, birthday celebrations and private parties complete with a dazzling display of lights, music, elegant linen-draped table settings and stunning floral arrangements.

With a full service kitchen adjacent to the room, catering is a breeze, especially with an elevator to the second floor. There’s convenient parking as well. Maximum seating capacity for formal dinner is 100.

Musical concerts, charity fundraisers, including art displays and even intimate theatrical performances, have taken place at La Sala de los Milagros. Workshops, seminars, company meetings, private luncheons, award ceremonies, and business planning sessions with theater style seating, conference-style with tables and chairs, or schoolboy tables are all possible.

Seminar groups as far away as the UK have utilized the flexibility of La Sala de los Milagros. “We have found the facilities at Tlaquepaque both excellent and unique. The ambience of the room and surroundings, with the excellent restaurants and fine art exhibits provide a perfect conference setting,” reports seminar leader, Christine Core who has booked for a second year.

Consider combining the indoor ambiance of La Sala de los Milagros with the outdoor splendor of one of Tlaquepaque’s signature courtyards as Lea Gracer of Sedona Visual Artists’ Coalition recently did. “The room is the perfect venue for our exhibits and functions… with French doors and a terrace overlooking a magnificent garden courtyard. On opening night we set up the food and music on the large patio, where hundreds of people enjoyed an evening of the old world glamour Tlaquepaque offers.”

Available seven days a week with access to four exclusive Tlaquepaque restaurants, your next function is perfectly contained within the charming environs of Tlaquepaque. To discuss your upcoming event please contact Jill Kyriakopulos, Tlaquepaque’s event coordinator, at 928-282-4838.

Floyd - the Tlaquepaque Mascot

Wendy's 2 year old Golden Retriever, Floyd, is the Tlaquepaque Mascot. Everyone in the village loves Floyd. He visits many of the shops and galleries looking for special treats offered to him with love. He is a joy to everyone and keeps Wendy and Jill company in the executive office. Floyd is the official greeter to anyone coming to the office. You may also see Floyd sitting on the balcony above Rene Restaurant. From this location, he can check to see everything that is going on in the Patio Azul. Floyd loves other dogs and small children so he is the perfect companion. He gives unconditional love and receives lots of love back from our tenants, employees and visitors.
