Sedona Film Festival a Wonderful Event

I don't know how many of you enjoyed the amazing films offered at this year's Sedona International Film Festival, but I can assure you, it was the best one ever. Each and every movie was a winner and the impressive line up of film makers and actors attending this event was great.

The Film Festival brought many out of towners to Sedona and it is a great event to have during the month of February - when we desperately need out of town visitors. The highlight of the event was the visit by Michael Moore and the presentation of three of his documentaries. Each showing was packed and audience participation was huge for the question and answer period following each film.

If you missed this year's event, plan on attending next year. I am sure you will not be disappointed.

Geoffrey Roth Featuring Bagues and Philip Zahm

Geoffrey Roth Gallery is Hosting a One Day Jewelry Event Featuring Bagues and Philip Zahm Designs
Wednesday April, 28th from 10am – 5pm

Inspired by the horns and trumpets of an orchestra, the contemporary Concierto design by Bagues - Masriera is playful and classical at the same time. Antoni Ros Marba, the creator of the line, writes: “There are many things which bring music and jewelry together: the harmony of combining the forms, the golden melodic creativity, the rhythmic stability of the precious stones, as eloquent as a diamond set in precious metal…. “

The Bagues rings, earrings, bracelets and necklaces are made from 18K yellow gold, diamonds and basse-taille enamel. The Concierto line comes in variations of vibrant colors for the spring, warm colors for the fall, and white gold and diamonds for the winter season. Concierto is only one of several styles within the Bagues line that reflect the Mediterranean life style of Spain and the long tradition of enamel work of Barcelona.

New Vintage Tibetan Penants at Cocopah

News on our offering of Tibetan beads and pendants at Cocopah. This past year it has proven difficult to locate interesting pieces at a reasonable price. It seems that much of what is available is not good quality and uses non-traditional materials such as synthetic opal, dyed turquoise, etc. Antique artifacts are impossible to find.

The group called 'Vintage Tibetan Pendants' was bought from a Tibetan who is also a collector who insisted they were 'vintage' but I feel very uncertain about the age of them. The coral used is definitely old and of very fine quality. The designs are exceptional. Some are double-sided with an entirely different design on the other side. If interested, request a scan of the other side.

The beads are made in Tibetan homes with no regular production. Usually you will never see the bead you fell in love with again. But that's the great bead game, I guess...the hunt and thrill of discovery.

All pendants except the small brass Buddhist pendants at $8.00 are one of a kind. The small brass pendants were sold to me as 'vintage' but once again, I'm uncertain of the age and don't want to pass along misinformation.

Hope your year is going well. We feel very positive about 2010 and have opened COCOPAH NORTH across the street from Tlaquepaque. We have a big oak bead stringing table and more beads. You are invited to join us for tea and free stringing lessons. Look for a new section about COCOPAH NORTH on the website soon. At COCOPAH NORTH we also have a collection of antique American patchwork quilts, New Guinea artifacts, Mission oak furniture, the work of Hopi artist, Delbridge Honanie, etc.
